On this week's episode of Armed Lutheran Radio we welcome Matt and Heinrich, two of the co-hosts from the Geeks, Gadgets and Guns podcast for the nerdiest episode in Armed Lutheran history.  In this fun and far-ranging interview we discuss podcasting, guns, gun laws, tech, and building a gun in your garage.  Plus tips a self-defense tip from Aaron, a new Ballistic Minute with Sgt. Bill, and Mia's Motivations.

Special Guests - Matt and Heinrich, two of the co-hosts from the Geeks, Gadgets and Guns Podcast.

Take Your Kids to a Gun Show - A great way to share your passion for guns with your kids is to take them to a gun show.

Ballistic Minute - Sgt. Bill gives us a review of Magpul's Glock magazines.

Fundamentals of Defense - Aaron Israel discusses how being a good neighbor is a good strategy for home defense.

Mia's Motivations - Mia Anstine is back with tips for choosing the best hunting ammo.

With all that's going on, with all the stress of our day-to-day lives, it's easy to lose sight of what we should be thankful for, and to whom we should be giving thanks.

In a special episode of Armed Lutheran Radio we wrap up the 2016 International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) season with a round-table of shooters. We look back at our favorite (and least favorite) matches and stages and share some funny stories.  We'll look forward to 2017 and talk about rules changes and why each of us competes in IDPA (and why you should, too).

*Note: this round-table was recorded prior to the release of the new 2017 IDPA rules. I decided to leave that segment in the show because the opinions expressed are still important, especially now that we know what the rules changes entail.

Guests - Our own Sgt. Bill Silvia, IDPA Social Media Coordinator Mandy Bachman, Margo Stevens-Ray, Ben Bolden, TJ Kane, Scott Longhorn, and Sam Williams.

Nov 7, 2016

On this Week's Episode of Armed Lutheran Radio we are joined by Lloyd's former pastor from North Carolina to discuss gun free zones and the Fourth Commandment. Plus listener comments and tips from Aaron Israel and Sgt. Bill.

Special Guest: Pr. Ralph Abernethy III - So-called "gun free" zones are really just target-rich environments for killers. We all know that. But as a Christian, how should we regard these places and should we respect them? Pastor Abernethy helps us answer these questions.

Ballistic Minute - In this week's Ballistic Minute tip, Sgt. Bill talks about the tools he takes to the range for his practice sessions.

Fundamentals of Defense - Aaron Israel's self-defense tip is about how to teach your kids to stand up for themselves from an early age.

In this week's meditation, Lloyd reviews the findings of a recent survey of convicted burglars to learn how these criminals think and the steps you can take to make it less inviting to them.
