Whenever a mass killing happens in America we do nothing. If you define “nothing” as not passing meaningless gun control laws. So says a loopy leftist theology professor who says that because we won't give up our guns, we're no better than the ancient Canaanites who sacrificed their children to Moloch.

What happens when the pastor of a progressive, social justice obsessed church buys a modern sporting rifle? Freakouts and hand-wringing, of course. To try to explain how this could have happened, author and musician David Gungor says gun-loving Christians love violence more than the Gospel and he aims to prove it by quoting a gay Catholic heretic. Prayer of the Week
O Lord Jesus, our hearts break for the many lives taken in Las Vegas. For the families shattered and the multitude of the wounded. We lay before you every grieving heart. Every injured body. Every person crying out in perplexity and anguish. Have mercy, Lord, upon them, all. We ask this in Your name, whose own eyes wept in the presence of death and in whose invincible love and forgiveness is this sad world's only hope. Amen.

Sep 24, 2017

In this special episode, Lloyd and Pr. Bennett stumble upon what may be the most reprehensible thing they have ever analyzed in the 88-week history of the show. With all the technical glitches we endured to put this show together, we thought jokingly that Jesus didn't want us listening to it. But it's more likely that Satan didn't want us exposing it.

Clinging to God and Guns
Dr. Roger Ray is the pastor at Community Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri. His “church” is a progressive liberal echo chamber that puts the pursuit of social justice ahead of the Gospel. In this week's episode, we look at a “sermon” from the Sunday after the Charleston church shooting back in 2015. During this speech, Dr. Ray uses nasty ad hominem attacks, twisted logic, meaningless stats, and outright lies to demonize those who disagree. All while claiming to desire meaningful dialog and discussion. The world, he says, has no meaning unless you give it meaning through your works, and the deaths of the victims in Charleston and Newtown mean nothing unless we can pass gun control.

Prayer of the Week
O Lord, we implore You, let Your continual pity cleanse and defend Your Church, and because she cannot continue in safety without Your help, preserve her evermore by Your help and goodness; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Clinging to God and Guns
Lloyd is again flying solo and tackles an article by a Professor, published at Patheos.com, which looks at gun violence and the Book of Genesis, suggesting that we gun owners are part of a dangerous subculture that doesn't trust in God enough because we won't give up our guns.

Prayer of the Week
Keep, we implore You, O Lord, Your Church with Your perpetual mercy; and because the frailty of mankind without You cannot but fall, keep us ever by Your help from all things hurtful and lead us to all things profitable to our salvation; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Clinging to God and Guns
Lloyd dissects an article from the Baptist General Convention of Texas written after Newtown in support of banning semi-automatic firearms because five shots is all you need for hunting or self-defense. You can support the Second Amendment and still support banning dangerous weapons, the article argues. It's one part illogical, two parts stupid, with a dash of poorly applied Scripture. Lord willing, Pastor Bennett will be back with us next week.

Prayer of the Week
Almighty and everlasting God, give unto us the increase of faith, hope, and charity, and as we do obtain that which You promise, make us to love that which You command; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Aug 27, 2017

This week we are talking about gun control, confiscation, and Biblical prophesy. Clinging to God and Guns
In the Summer of 2016, Kaitlyn Hamby was an upcoming senior at Florida State, and an intern for Rev. Rob Schenck's anti-gun Christian group Sword of the Spirit Ministries. In this week's segment, Lloyd and Pastor Bennett have a look at an article she wrote which puts words into Jesus' mouth, quotes the heretic Tertullian in support of strict pacifism, and says you're a sinner if you distrust a stranger.

Prayer of the Week
O God, whose never-failing providence orders all things both in heaven and earth, we humbly implore You to put away from us all hurtful things and give to us those things that be profitable for us; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.

In this special episode of Armed Lutheran Radio, Lloyd and Pastor Bennett take on a sermon by Rev. Rob Schenck. The sermon is part of a series of presentations in support of Rev. Schenck's collaborative documentary film “The Armor of Light” which follows Schenck's road from conservative Evangelical Christian, to social justice warrior anti-gunner.

Programming Note
This week's entire show is dedicated to the sermon by Rev. Schenck. The commentary was so long it would require editing out over half the audio to fit it into the usual format. As a result, Aaron, Mia and Sgt. Bill will be back with us in Episode 79.

Clinging to God and Guns
This special episode is wall-to-wall Clinging to God & Guns is dedicated to a sermon by Rev. Rob Schenck, who thinks our support for gun rights gives Christians a bad name among elitists in Washington, DC, so he's out to change that. According to him, owning a gun presents a temptation to evil, but we're just too stupid to see it because we are in darkness. That's why we need to cast off the darkness, put on the armor of light and support expansive gun control.

Prayer of the Week
Grant, O Lord, we implore You, that the course of this world may be so peaceably ordered by Your governance, that Your Church may joyfully serve You in all godly quietness; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.
