Amen

According to YouTuber David Williams, opposing guns is not about pacifism, it's about obeying God. Unlike many of the anti-gun voices we analyze he's not political. He's passionate and sincere…but totally wrong. We'll break it down in Clinging to God and Guns with Pastor Bennett. Plus a self-defense tip from Aaron Israel and Mia Anstine interviews Amy Robbins, the CEO of Alexo Athletica.

O God, who in the glorious transfiguration of Your only-begotten Son confirmed the mysteries of the faith by the testimony of the fathers and who, in the voice that came from the bright cloud, did in a wonderful manner foreshow the adoption of sons, mercifully make us co-heirs with the King of His glory and bring us to the enjoyment of our inheritance in heaven; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Does allowing guns in church “fly in the face of tradition and Scripture?” Freelance journalist Tom Verde thinks so. Lloyd will debunk his assertions in Clinging to God & Guns. * Note: I misspoke when I mentioned Episode 59 in the Listener Email segment. I should have said Episode 43.

Ballistic Minute with Sergeant Bill
With the cold weather here in Texas Sgt. Bill is taking the opportunity to do some maintenance on his equipment to prep for the coming IDPA and USPSA seasons.

Aaron Israel of Fundamental Defense
Aaron was unable to be with us this week.

Mia's Motivations with Mia Anstine
Mia was unable to be with us this week.

Clinging to God and Guns
Pastor Bennett was unable to be with us this week, so Lloyd is tackling this week's article on his own. In a piece for the Religion News Service, freelance journalist Tom Verde tries to suggest that carrying guns in church is supported by neither Scripture nor church tradition. He provides a series of bad historical examples, misinterprets or takes out of context a number of passages of Scripture, and ultimately fails to prove the point.

Prayer of the Week
Almighty and everlasting God, Governor of all things in heaven and earth, mercifully hear the supplications of Your people and grant us Your peace in our time; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
