In this week's Clinging to God & Guns episode, Lloyd is flying solo with a rant about the latest craziness in the news and tries in vain to put the best construction on the border crisis, crime, critical race theory, and gun control.

Context, context, context. Millions of Christians use proof texts to promote or defend preferred ideological positions, political movements, or worldviews. And most of those who do the proof-texting do it with little or no context. Lloyd and Pastor Bennett address a recent example from listener comments to help you recognize the kinds of arguments that you might face in the gun-rights debate, and how you can debunk them.
Almighty and everlasting God, who has given to us, Your servants, grace, by the confession of a truth faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity and in the power of the Divine Majesty to worship the Unity, we implore You that You would keep us steadfast in this faith and evermore defend us from all adversities; who lives and reigns, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

A Christmas message based on the account of author Henry Williamson of the Christmas Truce on the Ypres salient in 1914. That account, published in the London Daily Express in 1937, reminds us that even during that deadly and bitter conflict, we are all God's children. Pray that we remember that fact in the midst of our modern day divisions.

Lord God, gracious Father, who in the fullness of time sent Your Son to become man, to assume human flesh like ours and to become our brother, I than You for Your truth and Your fatherly goodness in giving us a Savior. By His birth, death and resurrection, we are delivered from sin, death, Satan, and hell. We beseech You, keep us until the end in true knowledge of our Redeemer, that with the holy angels, we may rejoice at His nativity, and on the last day, when He comes again, we may behold Him, together with You and the Holy Spirit, in glory and majesty, world without end.
